How to Set Up IPTV on a MAG Box (UK 2026)

MAG boxes are a bit of an outlier on this list because, unlike a Firestick or Android box, they were built specifically as dedicated IPTV set-top boxes rather than general-purpose streaming devices. If you already own one, or have been sent one, setup is different from installing an app — it is mostly about entering the right server details on the box's own menu.

What a MAG box needs

Rather than a playlist link you paste into an app, MAG boxes typically use a portal URL provided by your service, and are often identified by their MAC address, which your provider needs to activate the box against your subscription. Have your MAC address and portal details ready — your provider will ask for the MAC address when setting up your account.

Setting it up

1. Connect the MAG box to your TV via HDMI and to your router via Ethernet — most MAG models do not have reliable built-in Wi-Fi, so a wired connection is the standard approach.
2. Power on the box and find its MAC address, usually shown on a sticker on the underside or in the system settings menu.
3. Send us that MAC address so we can activate it against your subscription.
4. On the box, go to System Settings, then Servers, and enter the portal URL we provide.
5. Restart the box — your channel list and guide should load automatically once activated.

Why MAG boxes feel different

Because they are purpose-built hardware rather than a general Android or Fire TV device, MAG boxes do not run separate player apps the way a Firestick does — the guide, catch-up and channel list are all built into the box's own firmware.
