IPTV on Apple TV, iPhone & iPad

Apple devices make superb IPTV screens — especially the Apple TV 4K, which handles high-bitrate streams effortlessly. Everything installs from the official App Store; setup is a five-minute job.

What you need

  • An Apple TV (HD or 4K), iPhone or iPad on a recent iOS/tvOS version
  • Your Apple ID signed in to the App Store
  • Your login details from us

Step-by-step setup

  1. 1

Install a player from the App Store

Search the App Store for an IPTV player — we'll send you our current tvOS/iOS recommendation with your welcome message. The good ones are free with an optional one-off unlock.

  2. 2

    Add a new Xtream login

Open the app, choose to add a playlist or Xtream Codes login, and enter the server URL, username and password we sent you.

  3. 3

    Wait for the first sync

Channels and the programme guide download on first launch — usually under two minutes on Apple hardware.

  4. 4

Set up the picture properly (Apple TV)

In Settings → Video and Audio, enable 'Match Content' for both dynamic range and frame rate. Sport and films look dramatically better with this on.

  5. 5

AirPlay when you want the big screen (iPhone/iPad)

Playing on your phone? Tap AirPlay to send the stream to any Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible television on your network.

One subscription, all your Apple devices

Install the player on the Apple TV in the lounge, your iPhone and the iPad — the same login works everywhere, and your plan's simultaneous-connections limit is the only cap on watching at once.

Heading abroad? Your subscription travels with you. Download the app before you fly and everything works from the hotel Wi-Fi.

Troubleshooting

The app rejects my login

Check for autocorrect sabotage — iOS loves capitalising usernames and adding spaces. Type the details manually and disable auto-capitalise for those fields.

Picture looks soft on Apple TV 4K

Settings → Video and Audio → Format: set to 4K, and enable Match Content. Also check your HDMI cable is rated for 4K if the TV is older.

AirPlay drops out mid-stream

Keep both devices on the 5GHz band and within decent range of the router. For regular big-screen viewing, installing the player directly on the Apple TV beats AirPlay.
